When we arrived in Paris it was raining and although it didn’t matter I secretly hoped that it would clear for just one day. I remember saying “Just give me one day in Paris with blue skies and that’s all I need”. Somehow by some miracle, the skies cleared and before we knew it we were experiencing four seasons in one, but with hints of clouds and a sun shining bright. Straight away we knew what we wanted to do so we grabbed our cameras and headed straight for the Eiffel Tower in an attempt to make the most of this glorious sun. Even though we got up early to try to beat the crowds it seemed we picked the only day that Paris decided to hold some sort of annual running event. Trust.

Thousands, and I mean thousands of people were gathered at the base of the Eiffel Tower all wearing fluro yellow and orange vests, some even wearing those aluminum foil blankets that always make me visualize a human left over running down the road.

We shot a few photos until we realized there were men in the background doing lunges and hiking their legs up so high I didn’t know it was possible for a man to do. Quite impressive, entertaining and distracting all at the same time. Luckily it didn’t take anything away from the ridiculousness of this pencil skirt by Zimmermann that is easily the best fitting pencil skirt I have ever experienced (and trust me, I’ve tried on my fair share of pencil skirts), and this Patricia Chang necklace that adds a little bit of quirkiness with its cute little robot detail. Now off to edit the photos of me warming up and lunging in this outfit – post coming later. Just kidding… Or am I?
