Described as “One of the most visible innovators on the Australian fashion landscape” by TFS, Nicole aims to inspire a new generation, documenting her journey each day as it comes and captivating imaginations all over the world.
Beginning their journey in October 2009, Nicole Warne launched a fashion blog and small e-Bay store which specialized in vintage womenswear and accessories called Gary Pepper Vintage.
What started as a passion project which Nicole balanced with her full-time job, studies, and two internships at Grazia and Harper’s Bazaar Australia, it was only two months later she decided to take a risk, follow her heart, and quit her job to pursue her business full-time.
Rapidly growing in size and popularity, it wasn’t long until Gary Pepper Vintage started gaining worldwide recognition for its unique, quirky and feminine aesthetic. 12 months later, Gary Pepper Vintage launched its own e-commerce site which quickly evolved into one of the largest online vintage retailers in Australia, boasting an equally loyal following on its social media platforms.
During this time Nicole’s blog had also gained an equally loyal following, but it wasn’t until July 2012 that Nicole decided to take another risk, follow her heart once more and slow down her e-commerce store to focus on expanding her blog into a full-time and equally successful business venture, as well as freelancing for various clients to build her professional portfolio.
Now known as Gary Pepper, Nicole Warne aka 'The Gary Pepper Girl' travels the world wearing rose-coloured glasses with one goal in mind - to continue to share with her audience the journey of painting and creating the world of Gary Pepper, a realm of vivid colour, striking fashion and endless possibilities. It's not about seeing beautiful places, it's about seeing the beauty in every place. Her life motto? The glass is half full.
