As I was unpacking my suitcase in Barcelona I realised just how much breton stripes I seem to own. I can’t even explain how many different variations I have, so much so that I even wear breton stripes to bed! Breton stripes easily are one of the most versatile pieces in my wardrobe and I’m constantly looking for new ones to invest in. Instant chic that I think suit every shape, race and colour.

Here are a few variations of how I’ll be styling this classic staple with the European summer just around the corner, although it does feel a little more on the cooler side in Barcelona right now. Look one is what I’d imagine wearing at the beach-side in the French Riviera, look two is perfect for a light brunch with your friends before sailing to Santorini, look three is perfect for sightseeing and romantic sunsets in Florence, and look four is perfect for an evening out on the town in Paris, accompanied with a bright red lip.

And if you’re really a fan of breton stripes why not expand outside of fashion and even cover your room in stripes like my hotel has. When I checked in I realised just how much my room turned into an optical illusion with a candy-humbug-lost-somewhere-in-The-Hamptons kind of vibe, especially when I had laid my clothes out on my bed. I guess for me you honestly can’t have too much breton stripes!
