Blue, green, yellow, blue, green, yellow, #selfie, blue, green, yellow. A repetition of one of my favourite colour palettes naturally created by any tropical oasis, but especially from Qualia Resort on Hamilton Island as I’m super biased because it’s part of Australia yet it didn’t even feel like we were in Australia. A secluded sanctuary that made us feel like we could have been floating on an island anywhere in the world. Worlds apart yet so close to home.

Sending a few postcards from the tropical backdrop of Hamilton Island on the Great Barrier Reef. It’s places like this that make me so proud to be Australian and make me appreciate just how lucky we are to call this beautiful country home. With an array of vivid colours, Luke and I hardly slept during our time here, choosing to rise with the sun at 5am and gaze for hours at the midnight moon. Some quality time together in perhaps one of the prettiest places I’ve been to in Australia so far…

A super quick post about my even quicker trip to Shanghai with Lane Crawford and Luke as I juggle going back and forth from Sydney in an attempt to make the most of my precious few weeks at home. Actually who am I kidding? Photo diaries are anything but quick! They’re nearly as slow and painful as cutting raw pumpkin with a blunt knife. Such a shame I love taking photos and roasted pumpkin.

Amalfi Coast Diary http://garypeppergirl.com/2013/10/amalfi-coast-diary http://garypeppergirl.com/2013/10/amalfi-coast-diary#comments Sat, 05 Oct 2013 20:00:19 +0000 http://garypeppergirl.com/?p=20944 I could have spent hours dreaming away on the beach below but opted to stay in the moment as when you're in Positano reality seems far more enticing.]]>

The first chapter of our European summer adventure yet the last chapter in my visual diaries series from our trip with Contiki Chronicles is the postcard perfect Amalfi Coast. A few picturesque towns nestled into the sides of cliffs along the Southern Italian coastline.

We based ourselves in the local town of Sorrento purely because many of the other towns like Positano are quite expensive during high season. Our tour manager Chris Tabone negotiated affordable day rates for a large taxi to take us from our hotel in Sorrento to Positano for the afternoon where we only got a handful of hours before the sun decided to set. This is all the time we needed for a few tourists who were there to run around and document as much as we could rather than sunbake on the beach. If you’re coming for the sunbaking then yes, definitively allocate more time for Positano as its rainbow cliff-side houses, pebbled beaches and vibrant beach umbrellas and sun-lounges are perfectly positioned for pure relaxation. I could have spent hours dreaming away on the beach below but opted to stay in the moment as when you’re in Positano reality seems far more enticing.

Another way to spend your day is to take a day trip to the island of dreamy Capri. We caught a boat to the main marina of Capri where we hired a boat which took us around the local sea caves, stunning rock formations and up close and personal to sights like the Blue, Green, and White Grottos. Being a water baby I realised just how beneficial it is having your own boat, often jumping into the sea and swimming to small rocks to experience the depths below and what it would be like if I could actually live out one of my childhood dreams of being a mermaid. Still not possible? Really?

By night we would visit the stunning bay of Naples or wander the small streets and back alleyways of Sorrento where I picked up a few bottles of Limoncello (lemon alcohol) as souvenirs – a cliche must-do that was more enjoyable than it sounds.

All up we only spent two days on the Amalfi Coast with Contiki Chronicles. Not a lot of time but enough to experience some true highlights and give you a small (visual) taste of what this stunning place has to offer.

Westfield Ambassador Diary http://garypeppergirl.com/2013/10/westfield-ambassador-diary http://garypeppergirl.com/2013/10/westfield-ambassador-diary#comments Fri, 04 Oct 2013 08:07:36 +0000 http://garypeppergirl.com/?p=21080 It's been a very crazy few months with Westfield as their summer ambassador for 2013 and I honestly don't know where to begin. ]]>

It’s been a very crazy few months with Westfield as their summer ambassador for 2013 and I honestly don’t know where to begin. The last two and a half months have seen me embark on what has to be one of the biggest highlights of my career so far. I’ve personally and professionally grown in this short amount of time, learning both the positives and negatives of working on a campaign this large and how to handle it. I visited three different states in Australia to host special media events to launch our #limousine13 fashion film as well as hosting Vogue Fashion’s Night Out in Sydney CBD where we had an overwhelming response with hundreds of people flooding into the middle of the bustling Sydney CBD. Perhaps the 14 topless men had something to do with it?

My latest role as Westfield’s ambassador was visiting Westfield Doncaster in Melbourne to launch a special project – a millinery exhibition called ‘Reflections of Spring Racing’ which features not ordinary photos, but instead eight cinemagraphs of eight of Australia’s most fashionable women. Each in a exquisite hat and showcasing the best up-coming fashion for the Spring Racing Festival which is just around the corner!

This is just a little scrapbook / diary of my experiences over the past few months with Westfield. There has been campaign shoots, magazine shoots, media events and TV and print interviews. You’ll also notice my lovely co-stars Jordan and Zac Stenmark are featured quite a lot. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve had a #stenmarksandwich but I’m utterly grateful for this opportunity for bringing us all together.

I never realised how much having the support of my friends, readers and peers meant to me until now. A quick thank you to everyone who took the time to attend our events, wrote articles, sent warm wishes, commented, tweeted, instagrammed and hashtagged. None of it went unnoticed and I truly appreciate your support for this campaign. I’m still coming to terms with the fact it’s already over, but looking back on these photos makes it feel like it was just yesterday we were nervously filming on set in a big empty warehouse in the middle of winter…
