Last night Gary Pepper hit 1 million followers and I didn’t know what to write as I was, and still am, lost for words.
One of my first blog entries read “So it’s Wednesday, and I quit my job today. In exactly two weeks I’m going to be a self-employed, full-time op-shopper. Holy shit…”. I was 19 at the time and had just quit my job, my business studies and internships at Grazia and Harper’s Bazaar Australia to focus on Gary Pepper, which I started with only $200. I had no idea it would quickly grow to become one of the largest e-commerce vintage retailers in Australia.
By the age of 20, I owned my own company and wrote this entry “Thank you for making one of the biggest and most daunting decisions I’ve ever had to make one of the best and most rewarding experiences of my life so far. This is not a job, but a dream I can’t believe I’m lucky enough to live in”.
You are never too young, too old, too poor, too uneducated or too busy to start living your dreams. A dream is a dream; it should not be contained by boundaries and cannot be defined by others.
Here’s an unpublished photo Luke and I have been saving for a special occasion, taken at Trolltunga in Norway which captures exactly how I feel right now. I cannot express the deep gratitude I feel, all I can say is a million thank you’s and I couldn’t have done it without you…
