So, here it is, the official campaign for Roland Mouret’s Woolmark Collection.
It’s extremely humbling to be a part of this, especially as I’m not a traditional model nor have I ever imagined it to be a part of my career. The concept behind who Roland’s chooses to front his campaigns is not based on looks, but instead based on “real women, women who embody female empowerment – modern women in a man’s world.”
“When it came to pairing with a personality that captured the essence of this exclusive collection, many names came to mind, but Nicole stood out. From humble beginnings with her e-commerce site and personal style blog, she has forged a path for herself in the fashion and digital community and elevated herself and the Gary Pepper brand all on her own. As a self-made woman; owning her own successful company by the age of 20 – she is admirable yet enviable, relatable yet accessible, and the fundamental modern woman.”
This has to be the quirkiest photo shoot I’ve been a part of. Maria, the photographer, was throwing direction at me every few seconds. “Light this lighter! Roll this dragon fruit up and down your leg! Put on these gardening gloves and swing off the rail!”. I would envision Roland Mouret’s campaigns to be so poised, controlled, refined… but after meeting Roland and Sophia Neophitou, his creative director, it became instantly clear just how playful their personalities are and the unexpected and abstract inspirations that inevitably make the Roland Mouret DNA so infectious.
The Roland Mouret Australian Merino Wool Collection is available exclusively from www.rolandmouret.com and Myer in Sydney and Melbourne locations.
I hope you all love it as much as I do! A special thank you to Roland, Sophia, Eugenia and the entire team who made this campaign such a pleasure to be a part of, as well as one of the craziest!
